CBG3 Maggie

My third CBG and first with a magnetic pickup. Oak neck and body, poplar fingerboard, phenolic nut, oak bridge from scrap flooring, brass drawer pull to hold the strings Lee Valley, hardware CB Gitty. Fret dots punched out from Fender picks. I won't list all the things that went off during the build and I was tempted to scrap it a few times - instead, fixed it / found a workaround, chalked it up to lesson learned and next time do it right!

  • Uncle John - a pet crow named Maggie - here in Canada, that would be unique! I love it!

  • Thanks Bjorn - I find, after building Maggie, I spend more time working out the dimensions before grabbing wood and tools. (I'm working on number 4 - Anna). And if I should still produce some well laboured fire wood - hey I'm only human ;-)

  • You are obviously a quick learner; your number 3 is clean and straight forward and probably plays well. Good idea to punch out the fret dots, I'll try the same. And about learning: I have made a good deal well laboured fire wood...

  • Yup.  And Maggie is a great name for guitar, cat, dog, or crow.

  • Thanks Uncle John.

  • You may have struggled, but the end product looks great.
