  • tks for your comments  UJ.. will check out for sure..

  • George, if you play six string, then tuning a fretted 3 string DGB lets you almost instantly use you know how and sounds good.   Especially easy in the key of G,  G chord open.  D or D7 just as you are accustomed to only a 2 finger chord (omitting the high e string)  and a 2 finger C and a 1 finger Em.   Check chord charts and highlight the DGB portion.

I hope you try that and that - my latest video uses DGB and is kind of clumsily finger picked.

And I hope you learn the CBG mainstay I  V I such as GDg or DAd.   Knotlenny's CBG 101 was a revelation to me for that.

  • Good on you, George.

  • Thank you UJ... the playing is coming "slowly" but I have been busy building and all the other winter stuff so time is a bit limited.. I made this one (#3)  for a friend of mine in another province. Now working on # 4 for  maybe me who knows...I try to play a little each day or at least try.. I do play 6 string acoustic a lot but this is just way more fun to build and play with.. guess I'm hooked like a lot of people...

  • Extra nice, George.  You are new to me.  How's the playing going?  Lots of help in the how to play section at page top.  knotlenny's CBG 101 got me going.
