I'm really surprised that I've built three good ones in a row. I'm on a lucky streak, I guess. #110221 is simply elegant. The classy Grand Cru Diademas box sounds as good as it looks, with a warm and mellow tone with great projection. The maple neck and cherry fretboard are left to their natural beauty. The neck, with sides and bottom tapered to slim, easy-playing profile, was sanded to 1500 grit before receiving a French polish with Platina shellac, a nearly colorless coating. The well-figured cherry fretboard was radiused and then polished with 1500 and olive oil. The Paua abalone fret dots are arranged to compliment the S-bolt soundholes. Strung with 32-24-16-12 strings, it left the shop tuned D-G-b-d. Yet another I hated to part with, but SOMEONE will give it a good home. I've given up on videos since they turned out so poorly (and I bought a new plane instead of a video camera).More pics at www.huntznsam.com
