naw it works ok rand, not much different from on a regular flat head if you think about it. I prefer it really because i got fat fingers and when the slot is narrow enough for the post to fully span it this can make the slot so narrow that clearing brown string off the post is too fiddly..
What I like about this photo is the block of wood you glued to the inside of your slot in the headstock to receive the ends of the 3 tuner shafts. That's a real good idea. I seen plenty of other wide slot headstocks but have avoided making the because they leave the tip of the tuner shafts unsupported (as can be seen in the following photo)...
I don't know from experience, but from the looks of things, not supporting both ends of the tuner shafts seems like an invitation to disaster down the road. Your idea is a simple fix for that. Thanks for the idea.
