For those who notice the lamp base. It is a radio tube, one of two such tubes, custom made for Edward Armstrong, the inventor of FM radio. My father worked for Armstrong at the first FM broadcasting station in Alpine, New Jersey, first when my Dad was a teenager before WWII, then after the war. When Armstrong jumped out of a window in NYC, his wife asked my Dad to dismantle the station for archiving at the Smithsonian. One tube went there, the other illuminates my cbg builds.
