  • i use the "other" method on my headstocks...but i usually glue on "ears" and a veneer which seem to add strength...either way, this is one fine headstock!
  • I read a reference to this recently. The author stated that the joint you have here is usually used in Spanish guitars (where the headstock scarf runs under the first fret) with the other "western" style having the joint backwards to this, running under the peg head. It was stated that these are stronger than a single cut neck due to the orientation of the grain(s).

  • Nice scarf joint Rodney , thats how i did mine also , think this method is stronger than the other method (headstock off cut underneath) this method gives you more glue area and then the added strength of the fretboard on the top , it's like a scarf sandwich.
