Hya Travis. This amp was made to have some nice looks to it and still be a functional, decent sounding tube amp. It could actually just sit on your coffee table for looks........but, we wanna make sum noise with it tho....eh ? It was a relatively easy build. Just check around for an inexpensive amp head or combo unit, remove the guts from it and find a good sized box that will house all of the guts for ya. Just be very careful with the power and voltages.
That is a thing of beauty! I have been wanting to attempt something like this using either a cigar box or a large coffee can but wouldn't even know where to start.
