Hi Rob. This dish is a little dense, but so am I! But just strumming or finger picking, it is tonally low. But, with banjo picks, it sounds great. Old Lowe's alu cones are great, but $25.00 and my dish was 25 cents. my electronics friend says thinner is better, but give it a go. jh
