Thanks y'all! I'm using weed wacker wire with an aluminum clamp to loop it at the ends. I've got a pic in this album of that setup. Running it through a Fishman preamp gives it a nice boost. I'll get a recording of jamming with my blues-guitar guy posted soon!
Simplicity and functionality in a box! This MAD MAN I like it. I listened to your video of the other bass and it sounded fantastically well enough to gig. I'll bet you could go wild decorating these up anyway you wanted without a worry.
