My first go with adding an image to the build. I enjoy white water canoeing. Not wild about the end result, but I guess I learned a bit. The real disappointment is how bad it sounds ;-[ So much buzz and sitar-twang that I'm afraid it is eye-candy-only. Oak fretboards have been challenging for me.

  • It looks really neat. Uncle J has given "sound" advice.  May I also add the option of higher tuning into the mix.  I don't know if your machine heads have screwed in wings, but I had a buzzing issue and found that one needed tighten up.

  • I like the look and the theme.  Reminds me of books I read as  a kid.  The Walton Boys books.

The guitar look like it would work well.  Too bad it sounds bad to you.  That happens.  I was looking at one of mine that I put extra work and good parts into and yet it still buzzes and disappoints me.  I am going to replace a zero fret with a coarse threaded screw and maybe raise the saddle.

I think you should try a coarser threaded and maybe taller saddle.  It's hard to tell from the pic, but maybe raising the strings up a bit will cure your buzz.  Look at the nut too and be sure the strings are not touching any frets.   Good wishes that it ends up a good player.
