I honestly thought that I might have carved this tiny mini-dulcimer a little thin towards the back-but either this tin resonator is very sturdy on the rim or my recycled Ukulele strings are not putting enough pressure on the layered Oak to matter...I believe that this build will continue without amplification for now. I'm carving out a light Basswood block, slightly hollowed to switch out with the candy tin for a 'Hotel room at night' option, then possibly screw a thin plywood deflector (banjo-style) to my current open-back configuration for a few extra decibels by day.In the event I change my mind about Amping up the CanDo, I have a miniscule contact mike that I could literally zip-tie around the inside of the neck and let dangle...but for now i'm pretty happy as is.
