Calrec 7 stringer

This is the first bolt-on neck I've ever done, made for the company I work for. It's made from a Calrec Fieldbox which I found in the scrap bin in Engineering. It seemed a shame to throw it away. We gave it away as a prize at a broadcast trade show in Amsterdam last week, it proved quite a draw - I'll post a picture of it in the stand...Oh, the colours in the photo were inspired by Mondrian, the Dutch artist (Amsterdam and all that)...not sure that came off quite as well!

  • Good old Devin. I still can't get my head around the middle bit on Canada, you know the bit I mean!

  • Well Boxy, I think it's a triumph. Looks fantastic. Did you enjoy the soundtrack on the video?
  • I'm sad to report that it's not my neck, it's a bolted on neck from a Peavey guitar which I swapped some homemade cakes for a few years ago. I've been waiting for the right body to come along. Not sure I'd do it again though, it's not as satisfying as making your own. Speaking of which, I did like your video on shaping your necks.

  • Beautiful mate! Your neck? Splendid work that man.
