    I thought those looked like pop rivets. I have used them as 'String throughs' on the tail. Top hat good looks.

    I use a 3/16" x 1/4" pop rivet, either aluminum or stainless. I knock out the stem and you are left with a "top hat" that you can attach with a #4 screw. I use 1/8" stainless pop rivets for string ferrules, cheap and readily available ;-)
