  • Cool sound holes. Great!
  • Thanks Norm! The sound holes are traced from the handle on the storm door! They got bigger than I expected during sanding, hence the interior photo. Figured if it's gonna have windows, it needs a view! Good tip too, although the strings have been diggin' in for 15 yrs and I think they have stopped at the spot I should have made the holes in the first place!
  • I like the sound holes! Hey maybe slip a piece of fret wire up under the strings like bonehead has been doing will keep the strings from cutting into the wood.
    beautiful instrument!
  • Nope, I have small slots filed on it so they stay in place. Looks like brass here, but it is just 14 gage copper ground wire. Used to have a frame shop but no more.
  • Do you have a problem with the strings sliding on that bridge? I use the same oak moulding, and the brass looks really nice. Hard to find, tho. Don't know what I'll do with my piece runs out!
  • Yea, they have been cutting in over the years, holds a tune fine though. I been planning on fixing it from inside, like maybe some metal tubes where the strings go through the neck, so they don't keep cutting. Good catch!!
  • Very nice work Bridge, good idea for the bridge to bridge....
