Betty was made in 1956 at the Harmony Factory in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
She was branded a Silvertone and likely ordered and sold from a Sears Catalog.

She lived and played in Valentine, Nebraska, which is cowboy country and she came to me from Valentine in an old chipboard case with cowboy figures on it. I bought her cheap and broken off ebay. I don't know about her previous owner, but like to think he was a cowboy, or that at least that he (or she) played cowboy songs.

She has been re-glued together twice by me and she is now a four string in open G tuning. She is a purty nice old blues box.

I agree, Brian.  Betty is still in her prime.   Thanks, Andries.  I think that IS a very old and crusty Lowe cone.  It was on at least one and maybe two instruments before Betty.  That pickup and pickguard combination was from either Gitty or ebay and quite a while back.  Sounds pretty good plugged in.  Betty says that she likes being a four string.

"Super Cool UJ", looks like someone has added a trimmed down Mandolin Pickguard and Pup, and what looks very much like an "Old Lowe Spun Brass Cone",  I deconstructed one of my disliked builds a couple of days ago, and am using some of the parts for a new build, which should be finished today, it was designed around one of those parts, which coincidently is an "Old Lowe Brass Cone", one of four I purchased back in 2014.  :-)

Thanks all.   Feeling pretty good now.  Rode bike and walked my dog friend.  Just still hoarse and SNOTTY.   You may get to hear her next week.

Like many an older lady, it’s kinda obvious she’s had some work done on her, but she’s still a beaut! I agree... let’s hear her sing!

Maybe sometime, Ray.  Right now, I have a crappy summer time cold.
