My wife' aunt gave it to me. I'm making the guitar for her daughter's wedding present. I have a big backgammon box with the same mosaic type inlay work that I'm going to make into a mandocello for myself. I'm going to steampunk that one too.
There's a nice story with this box. Aunt Debbie is remarried to a former Army guy whose wife had passed away and it was her box from when they were in the Middle East together. She was a music teacher so it is fitting that this box will be turned into a guitar. The gift is a surprise to the bride who was the flower girl in my wedding (wife's little cousin).
