The box measures 10" x 16" and is 5" deep. Scale length is 25" Just enlarge pegbox from a violin by about 200% to suit the tuning machines you are going to use and scale the length of the neck in proportion to the scale length. I use heavy gauge flat wound jazz guitar strings from Thomastik-Infeld, made in Vienna. Volume is great for sitting home and playing acoustically. Can easily be fitted with a piezo for amplification. Plays through a regular guitar amp, no need for a bass amp. Cheers.
