Thanx a bunch, Timothy! I do sometimes use an old neck, or something from a manufactured instrument to get another playable and interesting gizmo out of it....this banjo actually sounds and plays great!
It really doesn't stop at slider guitars......I also built this frailing banjo, had to cheat on the neck, but what the heck? It plays like a dream. I built the box out of 1/4" oak, added a few gold trinkets from Home Depot, and we have a good banjo.......what do you think?

you dont have to make every piece from scratch, sometimes just repurposing things is better that it laying around collecting dust, great job
