Bowled over

Found this lozenge shaped wooden bowl at the thrift shop for a dollar. It had the butt ugliest brown paint on it, so I stripped it and....VOILA!

    I bought some little ones last week for stomp boxes... love the colour of this one its great... and soo good thattimber salad bowls are not in fashion it makes them sooo cheap to pick up.. I got mine for .50c

    The sound is very deep with more of a Dulcimer sound than the usual banjo twang. Using open tunings right now DAD, GDG.

    That's pretty cool. How's the sound?

    I've seen a few bowls at the local thrift stores, but haven't tried one yet.
