  • don't know why i thought it was a bass. makes sense though, bass tuning machines are rather large. 25'' scale is cool, that's what i'm working on. some major guitar names use the 25''.

  • Just a guitar. 25 inch scale. No reason it couldn’t be scaled up to a bass though.

  • is this a bass?

  • As I said, with my vision, plans would be tough, but anyone is more than welcome to adopt any or all of whatever they can get from the pics. I’m always happy yo answer questions when I can.

  • my step-brother has a machine shop. perhaps with your permission we could make one from aluminum. moving slow these days, but what the hell. i just like when the strings are properly guided, instead of being "bent" into submission. my computer isn't showing me the whole site, so i'm just clicking on the photos. can you send me a "friend request" ? yes or no is fine, just have t get this site working.

  • Daniel, since I don’t play gigs, and I’m building it strictly for myself, it’s going to be a sealed unit when done. I don’t figure I’ll ever wear it out. I do plan to do a last mock up, including stringing it and playing a bit before gluing the top on, (that’s why they created masking tape, har!) just to make sure all is well before the top goes on. Yes, an aluminum cage containing the tuning heads and string management gear would be awesome.  There are no plans. With my perfectly awful vision, decent plans would be a very tall order. I’m legally blind, use a guide dog, etc. I do have what’s best described as donut hole vision, which with some creative adaptive measuring, etc makes this possible.

  • That is so absolutely incredible. Form meets function. Hope you have plans, don't know if you are making it so it can be disassembled. The structure made of aluminum would be sweet.
