Brilliant! I put both a magnetic and piezo pickups in my first build, but I have to say, I tend only to have it switched to the magnetic. The piezo obviously picks up quite a lot of ambient noise from the neck and body, but it creates a great big dirty sound when twined with my amp's overdrive.
I like my guitar's mellow acoustic jangle, however, I'm hoping the one I'm making now will sound a little louder acoustically.
Plugged it in for the first time last night and it sounds amazing. The action is really nice (by pure luck) but probably no use for slide. I think I got lucky on the pickup which is from what looks like a home made Strat, very warm sound. I have another two pickups from the same guitar so need to see if I can figure out who their made by. I'm definitely sold on using real pickups instead of pizo's
