Built using a black PDR 1878 Cubano Especial cigar box, this CBG features (or will feature) a 2mm thick plywood veneer soundboard, 4 strings, diatonic fretboard and a scarf joined slotted head with mandolin tuners. Current color will change as I feel the yellow looks putrid. Was stained with Iron oxide yellow mixed with cooking oil. Will try Iron Oxide Red and/or Iron Oxide Black to see if I can make it look more brownish. So here's how the yellow turned out on poplar wood. The board bellow shows the natural poplar color.
