Black Pot Lid Silverware Box Reso

Antique silverware box body, antique porcelain pot lid reso, 26 1/2" fretless vine fretboard, maple neck w/ oak headstock wings, skeleton key saddle, square cut barn nail nut, 12 gauge shotgun shell volume and tone knobs, mag pup pickup, large black screen soundholes, old hinge tailpiece, .22 caliber shell fret dots at 3,5,7,10 & 15, 9mm shell at the 12th fret, black carry handle. Very happy with the turnout, she sounds amazing! Sounds just as good unplugged as it does amped up. I think it may be a keeper, working on another right now so we'll see which I like best but I don't think I can top the sound of this one.Would like to thank a few people, Uncle John for the gift of the big sound hole covers, Randy Howerter for the idea of using a silverware box for a body, Keith Alan for the help with wiring the tone knob and Pick for the inspiration for the vined fretboard. Thanks Gents!

  • Thanks so much Chris! :-)

Don't mind at all Bro, as a matter of fact I am very flattered. This build was kind of a collection of great ideas from other great builders to start with.  ;-)

  • I "REALLY LOVE THIS ONE" Maddog!!! That's a flaming work of art! And you say it sounds like it looks ... "I'm putting this on my list to build" ... Hope you don't mind?
  • Thanks John, I appreciate it a lot my Friend :-)  I thought I smelled cabbage???

    Thanks Pick!

Thanks Wayho! Not to savvy in the vid  and audio yet, I'm working on it though :-)

  • That's a sweet looking build there, Maddog! Awesome work! How about an audio clip? I'd love to hear her sing.

  • saaaa-weeeet!!!!!   :-D

  • Back to 3 strings.    Just a whole lot of good planning and work going on here.   I mean the skeleton key and how it fits and how it clears the pickup and is just the right height over the fret board.   Pretty good paint on the fretboard.   And the pot lid.   Seems like I should be able to lift it and smell fresh cooked ham and cabbage.
