Beselin "1884" 3 String CBG

Antique Beselin cigar box (since 1884), neck/heel is made from a southern yellow pine stair tread salvaged out of a house that was built in the late 1800's, oak headstock wings salvaged from an antique table leaf, antique "Troy Grain & Fuel Co." yardstick fretboard, vintage dual hotrail humbucker pickup, skeleton key saddle, yardstick bridge, antique hinge tailpiece, brown open gear tuners, onyx nut, vintage brass strap buttons, antique furniture tack fret dots, the 12th fret marker is a brass spike from 1929 used by the railroads to date railroad ties when they were installed, 22 1/2" fretless scale, tuned GDG.

  • Thanks Jim! I was really surprised at the grain pattern that jumped when stained, I think I got 14 stair treads total out of the old house so I have a few more necks :-)

  • That old pine sure stains nicely! I thought it was zebra wood when I first looked at the headstock.
