A 3 stringer made for my newborn grandnephew, Ben. (His nursery has an elephant theme)Made from scraps of plywood and oak for the most part. Faces for the ears were salvaged from a vintage serving tray. 2 drawer pulls, an antique copper backing plate and a button make up the tailpiece and bridge. The pickup is at the tops of the tusks beneath about a 1/16" thick layer of the oak veneered plywood. Recessed metal beads were used as fret markers. The teal fade was done using spray paint.

Great design and use of materials.
Wow. Beautiful. I like the wood grains on the lower 'bout' especially. I like the 'teal fade'. It looks like turquoise.
Something he'll "never forget" i'm sure ;-)
