Better than free(got paid to haul it). I like it. Going to try river cane and see if it works as well. It's got thinner walls and isn't as strong.

Ido think it will wear out eventually and start getting rough enough to grab strings and make a ferocious scratchy sound, but it has survived about 3 hours of hard sliding, so maybe I won't have to make one every day.
I ended up carving it down where my other fingers set on the sides. Now it basically holds itself on. It's light. Really light. Sounds fine though. The finish is whatever waxy smooth stuff god puts on the outside of bamboo.
