Bad Screws

I kind of regret those four corner screws. I do build strong. The box is well reinforced.Cheap pickup. Purty good and dirty sound.

  • LOL on some of that Grandpa.   Good info too.

  • Nice git, Uncle John. I use no. 8 pan head screws (stainless or black) to close up all of my cbg's. I also use those same pickups for most of my electric builds. I use 4 pole (like yours) or a 6 pole mounted on an angle. I have come to embrace the concept of "string adjacent" in relation to the poles of the pickups. Pretty close works, and when I try to get 3 poles directly under 3 strings I often find my layout 2-3 mm off of bitchin'.

  • The contols work okay.  Yup.  Got em closer than I would have liked.

  • Can hardly notice the screws, I personally screw all my box lids down, do you have any issues with the Tone & Volume knobs being so close to the bridge, I find when their that close, I tend to knock them, particularly when palm muting.

  • Thanks, Joe.  It sure wanted to be a CBG.

  • Nice looking box!
