  • Very sharp!!

  • Love it S.D.!!! Great lookin' build man!

  • Ha! I had the same ideer. So right after I wrote that ( below) I immediately grabbed a steel cat bowl & laid it on top of the box. I bought a 1/2 dozen of them for 2 bucks a pop at a surplus/salvage joint a few months back.

  • I have one of those too! You can use a steel cat bowl as a resonator if the Lowe cones are too big. I used a 6" total diameter cat bowl in a box that was just barely big enough for it. It's 7"x7"x4". It's loud as heck! And the cat bowls are only $5 on Amazon

  • That should sound good. I have an Ashton "eclipse" box that is much deeper  (almost 4") I thought of using for a reso, but it is only @ 9-inches long x 7" w  ...dunno if I can cram a cone in there.

  • I'm making a reso out of the one I have. The label wraps around the bottom so I used the bottom for the front and the cone covers the bit the label doesn't cover. I ahve more of the boxes - I'll have to try usign one non-reso. It's a thick-walled box - so it IS surprising that it's loud!

  • Thanks, Craig. I kinda can't believe how good & loud this thing sounds. These larger Ashton VSG boxes are the bomb!

  • Nice tailpiece! Great looking build. I just used one of these boxes...
