This is a 19" scale silicon bass, using a set of original Ashbory stings, pre-amp, and tuners. The body of the instrument is made from reclaimed mahogany. The fingerboard, battery cover, piezo pickup, and control knobs are bocote. The face is paduak, and the tailpiece is bloodwood. The fret locations are marked by alternating bits of purple heart & osage orange. The nut and bridge are ebony.

John, thanks... I've been promising a sound sample on this for a month now.. but i've been so caught up in the steampunk build that I haven't put in the time. I will do a sound sample of it soon tho..
Wow. Bonkers and completely wonderful. Well done. You have my undying admiration for making this, in fact for even dreaming it up. Any chance of hearing it?
