Arturo Fuente Quatro

Maple neck/heel w/ walnut fret dots, 25 1/2" fretted scale, on board 2.5 watt amp, 2x3 built in monitor speaker, on/off speaker switch, 9 volt battery box, green on/off led, chrome covered humbucker pickup, onyx nut/saddle, maple bridge.CBG can be played 4 ways: #1 with the amp on using the onboard speaker, #2 with the onboard amp and with the onboard speaker and external amp using the bottom out jack for some cool feedback, #3 switch the internal speaker off and use the onboard amp as a preamp to an external amp, #4 plug into the top jack for a straight shot from the humbucker to external amp. Sounds great and is a blast to play around with the different combinations.

  • Big thanks MD!! I will likely message him as well. NICE work! -Glenn

  • Howdy Glenn,

Main thing is to keep the speaker and the pickup as far apart from each other as possible. Anonymous Pick has done quite a few of these and he is the expert when it comes to cutting the feedback, he has it down to a science. He's the one I went to when I was going to start putting onboard amps in. He has even taken the speaker and faced it backwards so the sound comes from within the box.

Check out some of his builds too and you'll get some great idea's.

The feedback is sometimes a really cool side effect of these as you can get some wicked sounds that you can't get from a regular CBG.

Hope this helps and if you have any more ?'s ask away and like I said Pick is really good at these so check his stuff out. He does some damn cool on board builds!

Good Luck...can't wait to see it.

  • O.K., thinking about doing on-board amp w. speaker. Any tips/secrets on keeping the feedback down but cranking a 1 or so watt amp up while simply using the amp/speaker in the guitar itself? Any thoughts appreciated Maddog. -Glenn
