  Cool! What kind of mechanism did you use to get the relief? I've thought about shaving the neck under the soundboard, as well as just dropping the slot the top fits into.

  My second try at this with a cigar box. Peeled all paper from inside of box - relieved neck off of soundboard. Installed a jack and piezo pickup. used thumbhole pulls from Lowes with bottom cut off for soundholes. This thing sounds great to me. Used toothpick for frets glued into V kerfs set on 25.5 inch dulcimer scale (strumstick style) Now I have to learn to play slide and blues. Or anything for that matter!!
