I found the sound of these boxes to be just okay, but there's a caveat. These guitars were built for children with shorter necks. The boxes are also a bit smaller than I'd normally like too. Instead of the neck going all the way through the box, I butted the tail end of the neck to the inside of the box and fixed it into place with the cabinet hinge that doubles as a tail. I've since decided that I don't like that approach. Also, since these guitars were going to kids, I braced the boxes with pieces of wood in the corners, behind the screws that you can see here.
