Angry Rooster Guitars #16

Here is my Angry Rooster #16. Made with doubled up Saint Luis Rey cigar boxes. The neck is maple with an oak and walnut heal. The fretboard is scrap wood that I believe to be cherry. Some black walnut, black plastic and bamboo serve as fret markers. Each fret individually cut and ends rounded before being installed. Ping tuners. Brazilian cherry on the nut and bridge. This one, as requested, is just an acoustic. I strung it up and got lucky....perfect intonation without a single adjustment. How often does that happen?? I made this for a long time friend that does some DJ work on the side....free advertising for me!!! So he wanted his logo on the soundboard. Turned out nice thanks to some good advice from my buddies here on Cigar Box Nation!

  • I've done this on about 3 guitars. It's pretty time consuming, but it does took so cool. I need to figure out a good shortcut to achieve this look because I'm having a hard time going back to filing them after they're installed.
  • well your fret ends do look very smooth and round. I've never tried this method. I may have to give it a shot. Very pretty and looks very functional and desirable. (PS: don't tell anyone, I glue tomato stakes to the lids of cigar boxes) LOL
