I finally got around to taking some descent pictures of my latest guitar. Angry Rooster #15. It's made with 2 Saint Luis Rey cigar boxes (thanks Melanie Jones) combined into one. Next, I found an early 1960s lawn mower debris screen and used that as my sound hole. You'll see another lawn mower part, a muffler deflector, holding the strings. I added a shiny piece of brass to dress it up. The walnut neck has a veneered stripe, made with walnut and a couple strips of oak, salvaged from a 75 year old dresser. The heal, fret board, and ears are made from a scrap piece of wood that I haven't really identified, but it smells like cherry. The fret markers are black plastic and bamboo on the side and walnut and bamboo on the face. The flat wound strings are holding on to Ping sealed tuners, and the salvaged Epiphone pickup is ready to hook up to an amp. The bridge is a couple quarters, cable clamps, and an allen wrench. The nut is Brazilian cherry. Each fret was individually cut and rounded on the ends and polished. The intonation is pretty much perfect. I must say, it has an awesome sound to it!!!
