AGP #494 – “Rose Tattoo”3 String Fretless Relict Baritone GuitarScale: 724mm / 28½ inchesStrings : .046NW/.030NW/.022NW/Tuning: E B eThis one is a Tribute Build to one of my favourite “Loud Aussie Rock ‘n’ Roll Pub Bands” – “Rose Tattoo”, the Sound Board is their Band Logo, and the Box Sides & Fretboard etc., are just some of the many songs they recorded. The Box Sides & Bottom are 95mm x 15mm Rough Cut Fence Palings, the Soundboard is 7mm Pine Plywood, the Neck is Merbau, the Fretboard is Solid Pine, all the Artwork is Pyrographed, the colours are different Wood Stains, and an Acrylic Clear Gloss was used to highlight everything.A 17.5k Quad Rail Humbucker is wired through Vol & Tone Pots to the output Jack.*The only regret I have with the finish on this build is, for some reason I Stained the Fretboard Blue, but after doing it I didn’t like it at all, so sanded the shit out of the Fretboard, which did leave some Blue Streaks, then thought that after giving it a coat of Yellow Stain, the two colours would look pretty cool together, and of course as we all know (but I didn’t remember at the time) Blue and Yellow mixed together make Green, in retrospect I should have gone with the Pure Yellow, as was used on the Soundboard Rose Tattoo and Australia surrounds, and if you look closely at the Side Fret Markers, you’ll see another little faux pas, where I put the 12th Fret Markers at Fret 9, didn’t realize that one until I plugged it in tried to play it.:-)
