AGP #424 - “Balikpapan Chugger”

AGP #424 - “Balikpapan Chugger”(2 String Anzac Biscuit Tin Guitar)Scale : 609mm / 24 inchesStrings : .030NW /.020NW /Tuning: D GAs usually happens after doing a 4 String Build, you end up with 2 odd left over Machine Heads, Solution: Build a 2 String Chugger. The Biscuit Tin was a Charity Shop purchase, the Neck is recycled Grey Ironbark, the Fretboard is Radiata Pine, both given a Tickle Up with the Gas Torch, coated with Mahogany Stain, and Gilly Stephenson’s Clear Restoring & New Timber Polish.A 5.5k Single Coil Strat Invader Type Pickup is wired through a Tone Pot to the Output Jack. While I’m quite happy with look of it, the downside is, to my Ears, it sounds like a “Heap of Shite”, and will! be modified, probably by lining the inside of the Tin with scrap bits of Pine Plywood and maybe a change of Strings and Tuning. :-)A Sound Sample is just about to be posted! :-(

  • "Thanks UJ", Yes!, I do love my Arnotts Biscuit Tins, and their contents, I think this one is the 16th build using this brand of Tin, and still have another 2 waiting to be used.  :-)

  • "Thanks Ray", It definitely will be overhauled, I think Shite is a polite way saying Shit, Arse, Crap, Poo, Poop or anything else that refers to Faeces  ;-D

  • "Thanx Pick", Looks Good But Sounds like Crap (at the moment)  :-)

  • You get and make some great looking tins.
  •  All kidding aside, love the look of it and I have faith you'll get that thing sounding good.

  • Does "Shite" sound like ass? Asking for a friend.
