AGP #395 - “Scruffycita”6 String Fretted Nylon String Slide GuitarScale : 654mm / 25¾ inchesTunning: E A D G B EStrings: .043SW/.035SW/.030SW/.040CN/.032CN/.028CN/The Acoustic Guitar was a Gift from a friendly neighbour, which was in a dirty and very distressed condition, replaced the back with Cedar Venetian Blind Slats, gave the Soundboard a light sanding, and coated both top and bottom with a brush on French Polish Lacquer.Obviously this one was inspired by Dave Lynas’s lovely 6 String Nylon String Slider “Carmencita”, I’m very happy with this $15 Wreck Resurrection, sounds very sweet and is quite loud acoustically, currently tuned to Open G (D-G-D-G-B-D), But!, I will have to brush up on my 6 String Playing Skills. :-)

  • "Thanks UJ", The Tailpiece is "Beech", a piece of recycled wood from the trusty old Recycled Piano supply, and Yep!, "Keef" does take the Low D String off of his open G Tuned Gits.  :-)

  • "Thanks Bob", I thought the Cedar Slats was a better option than a piece of 3mm Pine Plywood :-)

  • That came out very nice. The back with use of ventetian blinds came out great. Super nice home made tail piece. Alan, on my Open G tuned reso, I don't like that low D. It has its uses, but I do better without it. I don't remove it, I just loosen it and move it off to the sides. The Rolling Stones use some 5 string open G (minus the low D)
  • Those slats on the back have added a different look to this restoration.
