Have taken an interest in Lyres lately, have a new Build nearly finished on the Bench, but also decided to convert an old build I done back in early March 2014, to a 5 String Lyre, it was built originally as a “Shetland Gue”, a 2 String Bowed Nordic type Instrument, with Piezo Disc Pickup, however it was a complete Dud!, and I couldn’t even get a Scalded Cat type sound out of the bloody thing. In its new life it is now a 5 String Lyre/Harp, still has the original Body of Spruce Pine & 3mm Pine Plywood, but now stained Red & coated with Acrylic Gloss.A 7k Single Coil Bass Pickup is hardwired to the Jack. The Two Scale Lengths are: 16” and 17”The Strings Low to High are: .021NW/.018PS/.016PS/.013PS/.013PS/The Tuning Low to High is: D E G A BSounds Nice Acoustically, but even better plugged into an Amp with your preferred settings.PS: Some of the pics show it as AGP #288, must have been one of those so called Seniors Moments! ;-D

'UJ', I'm well aware that your not a "Big Fat Lyre", but you have been known to "Harp" on sometimes ;-D
Alan, this is real luthier looking work. And I am not a big fat lyre.
