AGP #218 - “Big Pot Box”(3 String Pot Lid Guitar)Scale: 660.4mm / 26 inchesStrings : .0.42NW / .028NW / .020PSTuning: A / E / a /The recycled 12mm Pine box sides and 4mm Hardwood Ply box top & bottom were sourced from a dump find of cupboard draws, the neck is recycled Cypress Pine, the Steel pot lid was a $2 charity shop purchase and an 8.11k Chinese Ebay Dog Ear Pickup is hardwired to the jack. After the original Pot Handle came adrift while modifying, the bridge now, is a couple of Wire Rope Grips with a hexagon piece of rod sourced from my trusty recycled Piano. My original intentions were to use F type sound holes and finish, with possibly a light stain (or leave natural), then apply a Wax or Shellac coating, but at the last moment decided to give it an Aussie touch with Kangaroo and Emu sound holes, which now has me thinking that maybe some Indigenous Art Work might be the order of the day, so at the moment the timber is in a naked state, with the finish still yet to be decided!!!

Yup! 'UJ', gonna deco-rat it up, but after just seeing your luvly lookin' Pot Lid 2 build, I'm having second thoughts, I've already started on the back, but might reassess my intentions when that's finished, I think I will use the less is more theory!
"Thanks Again" Uncle John, Yes!, the handle did remove itself, but I'm quite happy with the new one, thanks for your advice on keeping the wood similar to what it is, but!, I've just come in from the shed, where I started inking out some of the art work on the back, I think I might be creating a monster, in the fact that it will be a lot of work!!!!
Sounds OK, I'm just about to the point where I'm ready to post a few Vids, to demonstrate how some of my builds sound.
I think keeping the wood looking similar to the way it does would be best. Good job on the handle removal and new saddle. Looks fine. I bet you sweated the outcome. How does it sound?
"Thanks" Gary W, yes!, I think Pot Lid Resonators were definitely the flavour of the month, this was one of three I've just finished, I now think it's out of my system!! (for the moment)
"Thanks Carl", I'm pretty sure I will go ahead with the Indigenous Art style (over time) similar to (but not the same) as an earlier Diddley Bow build of mine pictured here.

"Thanks" Bluesheart, my opinion is that it's always nice to see a few details about someone's builds.
"Thanks" Wes,

"Thanks Pick", the sound holes were a last minute idea.
