AGP #212 - “Recycled Arse-Hi”(3 String Recycled Tricone)Scale : 641.35mm / 25 ¼inchesStrings : .042NW / .032NW / .024NW /Tuning: GDgThe Tricones are the bottoms of 2 litre aluminium “Asahi” beers cans, which I had purchased when my doctor suggested I limit my beer intake to just a couple every day (he neglected to say what size!), the box sides are Spruce Pine (from my recycled Piano), the box top & bottom are recycled Cedar venetian blind slats, the neck is recycled Piano (some sort of Poplar I think??)and the fret Board is an unknown recycled Hardwood.The timber was coated with a Cedar coloured stain, and then a Linseed Oil / Turpentine mixture.The Pickup is a Chinese Ebay 5.31k - Pre Wired , Tone , Vol, Output Jack & Plate.Most of the original ideas came from CBN uploaded photos, the cutaway idea was from a recent video posted by Norbert Kochhan, and the tricone method of construction from some 4 year old pics posted by bairfoot Cajun.

"Thanks" Jim Morris, Yes!, I too love the use of recycled stuff, I still have a lot old recycled Piano, Cedar & Hardwood etc. laying around in my sheds, and am always on the lookout for more.
Oops, my math is bad. I think 2 l. might be more than 40 oz! In that case, slow down! Or not. Oh yeah, and why can't I get 2 l. beers here in the States?
Thanks Randy S. Bretz, since contracting the "CBG Bug" a couple of years ago, and looking at the Cigar Box Nation Pics and Vids on an almost daily basis, any good ideas and builds such as the [ Bairfoit Cajun], I usually copy and paste to folders, and refer back to them for some of my own builds.
Brian [ Bairfoit Cajun] is a legend in the world of cgb builds and stringed instruments. Glad to see some of his old school designs are being looked at and used. When I built my washboard harp that's the first person I contacted for help...luv pickin his brain !
