“Jarrah’’ (3 String Stick Dulcimer)Scale : 527.05mm / 20¾inchesStrings : .024NW / .015P / .013P / .013P /Tuning : DADDAfter seeing the recent CBN video: "A short test run of build #14. Diatonic scaled 3-string cigar box guitar. Scale length = 21 38. Sort of inspired by the Seagull Merlin (minus the 4th string)", I was that impressed I just had to build something similar, not having a Cigar Box the appropriate size I built my own box (and neck) using my trusty supply of recycled piano timber, 3mm pine ply top & bottom and Poplar fret board, the bridge is an Ebony piano key and the nut (I think!) is Maple?.For a small instrument it has a nice loud acoustic sound unamped, under the Guiness bottle cap is a small disc Piezo hard wired to an output jack.Didn't have the strings I wanted to use on hand at the time, (.012 .012 .014 .022 or the Seagull Merlin gauges 0.12 .012 .016 .024), but they have been ordered, not sure which strings would suit best!.

Thanks 'Uncle John', this is the 7th Dulcimer type build I have, but yes!, always branching out and looking for something different & new, to build and (try!) to play.
Thanks 'Maddog', yes!, it is a good player (although I'm not), it' loosely based on the "Merlin Seagull", and probably misnamed by me as a Dulcimer type instrument, as it does not have that distinct Dulcimer ring, but a voice all of it's own, similar to the Merlin.
That is really nice. I saw it rolling by on the main page. Would not have guessed it was yours! Nice, man. Branching out. Aww, that may not sound right. You are always changing up and branching out. But this is something further different and new. The sound hole is the best of many good features.

Awesome! Looks like a good player!
