AGP #171 - “King Brown”(3 String Cigar Box Guitar)Scale : 635mm / 25inchesStrings : .042NW / .032NW / .024NW /Tuning : GDG'Nicked' the idea for this build from a recent video by the "King" Shane Speal's DeltaLectric demo, I previously hadn't put a Lipstick Pickup in the bridge position, it sounds great!, sweet on the clean amp settings, and grumpy when distorted.The cigar box was a Rocky Patel, coated with a black cork type stipple finish, which I sanded off, the neck timber (unknown?) is from my old recycled $29 piano, the fret board is white oak, and the whole thing was coated with a new stain I hadn't used before "Golden Teak", and then finished with furniture restoring wax, and was pretty happy with the final look.

Thanks for all the info. I have not tried a pickup like that or placed like that. I think now it's the combination of finish and fret board I like most. Very nice.
Thanks 'UJ', Like you I like the look (but! not sure why), after initially sanding the solid Cedar and Cedar ply box, I presumed it was going to have rough relic look, but after staining, it looked very different to what I had imagined, it's a light weight build, and has a very playable feel about it, the back neck profile is done with a large 45 degree router bit, and feels just fine, I originally used the 45 degree router bit as the first step in rounding the back of the neck, yes that is the Black Lipstick Pup just above the saddle, the only disadvantage of them being so close together is when palm muting, the fret board of course is the same pressed pattern white oak the pick uses on his Swamp Witches, I applied a bit of Linseed Oil & Turps mixture to the leaves & vine, in an attempt to vary the staining absorption, which seemed to work!.
I like that a lot. I'm not sure quite why. Just the overall effect, I guess. Nice job on painting that fret board. Love the back of the neck profile. How does it feel? Is that the pickup right above the saddle?
