AGP #130 “Cedar Ruffy”(3 String Guitar Box Guitar)Scale: 635mm / 25 inchesStrings:: .0.46NW / .036NW / .026NWTuning: GDGFound this $20 Box in a "Discount Trader/Antique" type store, the box was originally clad in a tatty decoupage, after stripping and sanding found this crudely built Cedar Box held together by what I originally thought were staples, but on closer inspection they seem to be possibly hand made nails, also under all the paper and glue were a couple of oriental symbols, so I've probably turned an aged Asian "Antique" of some description into a $40 CBG.

Thanks Dave & UJ, I love the criticism (which I view as advice), I like Dave's idea of using bone or wood for nut & bridge, I will probably go with bone (in a "rustic" manner), and yes "Uncle John" it does have side fret markers, (as all my builds do) these are burnt in with a small red hot nail, which I do on the lighter coloured necks, and on the darker necks I use cut down pop rivet heads, the fret board is Poplar, and the neck is an unknown hardwood, cut from a 4x2 piece of recycled timber, sourced from a building site for free, which suits my "tight-ass" nature :-)
Cool, AGP. I try to only be 'critical' when I very much like a build and it seem to me that something could take it from good to great. That is the case here.
I hope it turns out fantastic. Could be just painting the metal black would do the trick on that end. I like the bicolor on the fret board but the lighter part seems too light.
Does it have side fret markers? Man, those are some FINE F holes.
Apart from some clear furniture restoring polish to the timber, the whole build is 'Au-Natural', but your dead right "Uncle John", I was only looking at it yesterday and thinking the fret board needed staining, and I have taken on board the fact that the metal needs aging, this will all be done soon (and reposted), so thanks for the suggestions "Cobber", this one is a keeper (as are all my builds), it has a cheap "Belcat Alnico Pickup" fiitted, and it does sound sweet !

Beauty APG! love the rustic top. I can smell the old wood. For my part, i'd of used a wood bridge and bone nut. Just being "critical".... :^)
