Ebony bridges, brass bridge plate and pan head clamping screws, phosphor bronze saddles. Two disc piezo pickups under the bridge plate. Plate shaped to compliment the look of the Rocky Patel box. I must say, it's nice to have a guitar that plays in tune on all strings all the way up the neck.

  • Hi Penny.

Yes. I did make the bridges. There are some other photos up here, but funnily enough I am working on the bridge for the next one and I am going to document that a bit better and then put up a fuller description.

    All the best.

    John

  • Its a lovely looking build. did you make the ebony bridges? they look great.

  • Hi John. Sounds interesting. Feel like sharing it?

  • Hi John. This is certainly the place to bat ideas around. There are so many knowledgable people here. Have fun.
  • cheers i guessed you had considerable experience, thanks for the freindship,it's good to chat about stuff that would bore the socks off most of my fb freinds.be lucky.
  • Hi John. I made the bridge plate out of 1.5mm brass sheet. The movable bridge pieces are made from ebony (better view here). The adjustable saddles were modified from parts used to make violin and voila bows (I used to make them). The other screws (M3 pan head and M2 cheese head) and washers are standard. I have put up a total of 14 pics so that you can see the whole process. All the best. John
  • i was looking at this last night, did you make the adjustable bridge fittings? i figure i could make some from some old uk electric plug top pins..nice guitar.
  • Hi Brian. The strings go through copper pop rivets. The size is 4mm x 8mm. I bought them to use on the next one I am making but when I saw them I decided to use them on this one too. Good luck with your making.
