A toast to build no.2 Rum Punch!

A traditional approach for this build no.2, and what better way to celebrate it than with a cool glass of Rum!The recessed flap style lid caused a number of problems regarding rigidity and the fitting of the hardware and electrics, the Oak thru-neck was glued to slots made in the box and to eliminate rattles i screwed the lid down using brass corners and a couple of discreetly placed brass screws. The fretboard is made from Sycamore, all finished with a couple of coats of tobacco/clear varnish.Overall the sound was better than i expected but was compromised somehow by the use of one piezo placed by the sound hole and the neck humbucker on the same circuit, the switching would not work properly for some reason, so i created two seperate jack sockets and now all works well - acoustically typically Cigar Box Guitar, the humbucker a deep throaty sound similar in character to my Gibson SG and the piezo a very traditional wiry atmospheric Delta Blues tone...excuse me for rambling slightly, i think the Rum is starting to have an effect....(-;
