    try grounding to  the back of the  vol pot instead of the jack .

    Im having a grounding issue with this one, maybe someone can help isolating the prob.
    All static with volume knob 0-9 then no static at 10, full volume. Also bad hum when touching strings. I didnt have any "electric" strings so using Gitty phosphor bronze. I have a ground from jack to hole grommets from rivets.
    Its just a "for sale" build, not a customer so i can change anything to fix the issue.
