This is a six string cigar box guitar i built last year. I play the guitar as if it was a three string cigar box guiitar, or for that matter, an acoustic or electric guitar but there is also the option of lap guitar as well.

Thanks. I am not sure whether to consider this a lap guitar or plank guitar. Basically, the neck was a section of cedar plank, half an inch thick and two inches wide. I got the plank from the local Home Depot outlet. I would not use planks like this again. They are really tough to work with. the strum hole is a variation of the strum hole typical of dulcimers.
Very cool design. I don't think I've ever seen one like this.
