  • Thanks DM, those are chicken feeders i'm using for covers. Unfortunately i've really gotta angle the neck to get the strings to clear the covers, kinda stuck on the tailpiece, might end up going with something like what you guys have done to be able to get the strings grounded.
  • Thanks Godzilla!
Yes, boxes are made of cedar and all identical in size. We make 2 sizes (one for tenors and one for 6 string instruments). Mine are solid cedar on all sides and cedar ply for top and bottom.
Some really nice builds I saw on your page btw...love that CONE!

  • I've often wondered what kind of box you use for your builds, they seem to be very consistant in size. Do you have a stockpile of identical wooden boxes or do you make your own boxes.
Reason I'm asking is there is a certain size that I have come to like and finding boxes built per-these-specs is getting frustrating. I'm going to be building my own resonators based on box jointed all wood boxes but will still offer (true cigar box) builds.
Love your guitars, your success is very inspirational. There is nothing quite like building an instrument for someone, listening to them making it sing (I'm not a guitar player), and exceeding expectations.
  • Wow, those are gonna be winners.
  • thanks Steve!
  • I see you take "Cigar Box" to a whole new level! Very nice!
