Thanks again John for all your advice, me and simple don't go together haha. I've made some mahogany runners from the fretboard scraps and I'm working on bevelling them kinda like trim or scrabble piece stands. I plan on glueing the neck down and placing them on either side of the neck. I'll post photos when I'm done.
I don't know about the metal, Brian. Cosmetically this is a very good first build, I would be proud to build one this good looking. Only a few of us use truss rods. Wood usually does the job if it is thick enough. We are hoping your git that holds up and plays as good as it looks.
Just finish it up strongly as you reasonably can. Light weight has plusses, but only if it is strong. If it fails on you, just build again. It's best to start off simple, but not everyone does. Good wishes.
I read through the rest of your comments and I might do an access panel in the back and the glue it down and brace the sides like Uncle John suggested. I have a strip of metal I might use as truss rod, do you guys think its necessary, I may have got too ambitious for my first build.
Thanks guys! I plan on wiring two piezos in parallel under the bridge for now and eventually adding a single coil mag pup between the fretboard and the padron logo. I would like to be able to open the box to add and change electronics. Do you mean screw the lid to the neck under the fretboard and then glue the neck overtop. The dovetail is quite snug and I can wiggle it out, maybe if I screw it to the bottom I can remove and wiggle the neck out while attached to the lid?
Ok, now that I've seen the overlapping fretboard ( which I personally would screw into the neck beneath it, through the box top), I think that will strengthen your neck joint.

I am thinking and hoping the same as Ron.

Can't wait to see it finished!
