  • They are octave pairings of strings, so you sound like you are playing 6 strings. Really complex sound from just a crappy box and a stick. And let's face it, that's what it is.

  • Those ferrules are some sort of specialty washer from the hardware drawer. The come in both brass and steel/zinc.
