17", chromatic fretting, brass hinge tailpiece, octave parings, .032/.014, .022/.010, .014/.008. Tuned Cc, gG, cc'. Can't go to D, pops the little string!

    They are octave pairings of strings, so you sound like you are playing 6 strings. Really complex sound from just a crappy box and a stick. And let's face it, that's what it is.

    Those ferrules are some sort of specialty washer from the hardware drawer. The come in both brass and steel/zinc.
